The Department of Campus Infrastructure is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join the team on a full time, permanent basis!

About the role:

Supporting the maintenance team in their work

Undertaking planned and unplanned maintenance such as general repairs and minor plumbing

Safety testing

This role is offered on a full time (36.5 hours per week) permanent basis. Hours of working will fall between 08:00 and 18:00, to be worked flexibly as required by operational needs, Monday to Friday.

We would like to hear from you if you:

Have practical hands-on DIY skills and the necessary vocational training and experience to undertake routine repairs

Are familiar with and happy to work in the built environment, able to identify and remedy a variety of maintenance tasks and keep all affected informed of the situation

Have a flexible approach to work and a willingness to undertake training to improve knowledge

Are committed to the role and able to work individually and as part of a team

Have good problem solving, customer service and communication skills

A recognised City & Guilds or NVQ 2 qualification in an engineering/ building discipline, or a related subject would be an advantage but not a necessity.
