Specialist Associate Lecturer in Journalism Centre for Journalism Location: Chatham

Do you have specialist knowledge in contemporary multimedia journalism techniques, ideally in the area of reporting, and the ability to utilise your expertise to design and deliver effective teaching of the skills required to be a journalist in the digital age?

If so, this Specialist Associate Lecturer position within the Centre for Journalism could be a great opportunity for you.

This part time role (0.2 FTE) is available on a fixed-term basis for 12 months.

As a Specialist Associate Lecturer you will:

Design and deliver effective teaching of the skills required to be a journalist in the digital age

Teach undergraduate, postgraduate and apprentice-level students the skills and aptitudes required to pass the National Council for the Training of Journalist's Diploma in Journalism and National Qualification in Journalism (NQJ)

Develop and apply innovative and appropriate teaching techniques and materials which create interest, understanding and enthusiasm amongst students

Act as a mentor for students in the capacity of personal tutor

To be successful in this role you will have/be:

A good honours degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline

Substantial experience in national or regional journalism in the UK or abroad

Understanding of the professional requirements set out by the National Council for the Training of Journalists' diploma qualifications
