Description

LITE Fellowship

Please note that this is a secondment opportunity - open to current University of Leeds employees only

Are you interested in fulfilling a project on teaching innovation, scholarship or pedagogy? Are you looking to set an aspirational standard of teaching excellence and pedagogic scholarship?

We are inviting applications for LITE Fellowships starting in January 2022 to join the Leeds Institute for Teaching Excellence (LITE) and would particularly welcome colleagues new to, or with limited experience, of pedagogic research.

LITE embodies the University's commitment to excellence and innovation in education through its investment in a community of Fellows, giving colleagues the opportunity to develop and implement projects and establish a culture of high-quality teaching innovation, scholarship and leadership.

During your Fellowship, you will carry out a project based on innovative teaching, scholarship or pedagogy in alignment with the University's strategy for student education and LITE's objectives. In addition to new emerging ideas that would benefit any student groups at Leeds (taught students and postgraduate researchers), we specifically welcome applications that focus on enriching the taught student experience, aligned to the Curriculum Redefined Project.

Although not an exhaustive list we encourage proposals within the following areas:

  • co-creation and partnership
  • assessment
  • approaches to embedding sustainability in the curriculum at Leeds
  • digital transformation (specifically proposals evaluating the impact and efficacy of teaching approaches using digital technology effectively to support students' learning and experience)
  • compassionate curriculum
  • graduate attributes and skills
  • interdisciplinary/optionality
  • active learning
  • inclusivity
  • academic personal tutoring
  • personalised education
  • students' engagement with learning.
  • As well as carrying out your project, you will be expected to contribute to LITE's scholarly community, provide content towards the digital and external- facing profiles, act as an ambassador at internal and external events and contribute to the LITE Mentoring Scheme. You will evaluate and disseminate the impact of your project internally through research progress showcases and externally to develop the practice, pedagogy and reputation of student education at the University.

To explore the post or to discuss the project further, please contact:
