The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Psychiatry, Division of Student Wellness and Counseling, is seeking outstanding applicants for a licensed psychologist faculty position with interests in clinical care, education, and research. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.

The selected candidate's primary responsibility will be clinical evaluation and treatment of students in our institution's Student Wellness and Counseling clinic. The clinician should be especially familiar with evidence based treatments for major psychiatric issues of young adults, including depression and other mood disorders, anxiety disorders, attention deficit disorders, and substance use disorders, as well as situational/academic issues. In addition, experience in working with interventions which promote wellness (mindfulness, strengths based approaches) is desired....

In addition, experience in working with interventions which promote wellness (mindfulness, strengths based approaches) is desired. The clinician should be comfortable with and eager to collaborate on an interdisciplinary treatment team with psychiatrists and other mental health clinicians. Additional responsibilities may include assistance in outreach and wellness programs. This position may also have opportunities to participate in teaching and/or supervision in other areas of the Department, including our APA accredited Clinical Psychology doctoral program.

Candidates must hold a PhD or equivalent degree from an APA accredited program and must be a licensed psychologist or be license eligible in the state of Texas. Demonstrated expertise in cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and other evidence-based treatments is strongly preferred as well as experience in working in a university counseling center, EAP services on a medical or hospital campus, or similar mental health settings.
