The Library is a key academic support department in the university, providing students and staff with flexible, responsive services which underpin teaching, learning and research. We are looking for a Library Officer to work as part of the Customer Services team, supervising the weekend staff.
The Library Customer Service Team is responsible for the effective delivery of all front-line services through engagement with University students and staff and external visitors to the Library. The team leads the development and provision of enquiry services through a variety of channels; face to face, telephone, email, live chat and 24/7 service provision, and manages the overall circulation of print materials and care for the collection including shelving layout design, re-shelving and stock maintenance. Our team have day to day oversight of the quality of environment across all the University Library and Library Learning Lounges, and promote and support the use of print material, specialist library equipment, and IT resources such as laptops and printers. They are there to support the student through their journey in the library by delivering excellent customer service.
This position is part-time, working alternate weekends, and will report to the Library Team Leader (Evening & Weekend).
