Library Assistant (Learning and Research Services) (several posts) in the University Libraries (Ref.: 517338) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, or on a one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree; a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Putonghua and Cantonese); preferably relevant experience in library and information services; knowledge of new digital tools in teaching and learning; a customer-oriented mindset, and a strong team spirit. Working in a dynamic team, the appointee must be eager to learn and ready to take up new challenges.
The appointee will answer enquires via the virtual information counter, telephone and other channels; provide teaching support in general library instructions; develop e-learning objects; create webpages and promotional materials; assist in library events organization; provide a range of support in subject services (including reading lists, collection development and customized library training, etc.); and perform other duties as assigned.
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree; a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Putonghua and Cantonese); preferably relevant experience in a large library or an academic library; basic knowledge of citation databases such as Scopus; proficiency in computer applications, and preferably proficiency in Canva, reference management tools such as EndNote; a customer-oriented mindset, and a strong team spirit. Working in a dynamic team, the appointee must be eager to learn and ready to take up new challenges.
The appointee will handle enquiries related to library services, scholarly communication and research support services; assist in the management of researcher profiles in Scopus and ORCID, and research output records in the Research Information Management System, development and maintenance of library guides, creation of learning objects, preparation of messages for mass emails to promote workshops, events, resources and services; and perform other duties as assigned.
