Position Overview
Gibson D. Lewis Health Science Library is seeking new librarians to join their Education, Research, and Engagement team! The Education, Research, and Engagement team works in various public services roles and librarians are primarily responsible for facilitating access to health information by developing resources, programs, and services to increase the HSC community's knowledge and use of authoritative clinical, research, and consumer health information. Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in library or information science and two (2) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
Two years of experience in a reference, data, scholarly communications, student success, or research related position in an academic setting.
Expert literature searching skills.
Background in customer or public service.
Experience within an academic health sciences setting and/or related programs.
Experience serving as a departmental liaison in an academic setting.
Experience using emerging technology for education and curriculum development.
Required License / Registration / Certification
ALA accredited Master's Degree or equivalent

Job Duties
o
Participation in the reference, liaison, education, and collection development functions of Lewis Library including promotion of library services, programs, and resources to academic departments.
o
Provides specialized reference and extensive mediated literature searches, research project planning support through participation as author, publication consultation, and data management guidance.
o
Provides extensive support for research to the scholarly community that includes interpretation of accreditation requirements, frameworks for information fluency, awareness of measures of research impact, and maintaining a current awareness of user needs.
o
Partners with faculty with the goal of further embedding library education into the curriculum, increasing attending at library-led education sessions, and working with the university in furthering educational objectives.
o
Prepares and submits proposals and reports to meet grant and award requirements under the NN/LM subcontract Occasional travel and evening/weekend hours may be required
o
Serves on various UNTHSC committees and represents Lewis Library in professional organizations at the local, state, and national level.
