The Confucius Institute at the University of Luxembourg is recruiting to work in its Library Department a Librarian/Cataloguer.

Your Role...
  • Elaborate copy and original cataloguing for various library materials in a variety of languages following the appropriate rules and using the dedicated Library Management System (LMS).
  • Create item record and assign call number for each physical item.
  • Solve complex cataloging aspects in specialised areas of linguistic and disciplinary skills.
  • Implement bibliographic and/or content description of special collections (especially in the Chinese collection).
  • Organise large backlogs of materials.
  • Work closely with the rest of the team to provide intellectual and physical access to library / media resources on a timely basis.
  • Represent the Confucius Institute within the LLC, participate in the communication and development activities of the library / multimedia centre and its public service.
  • What we expect from you…
  • Bachelor degree in Library/Documentation Science or equivalent.
  • An experience of at least 2 years in a similar position.
  • Experience with an integrated library system, knowledge of Aleph being an advantage.
  • Practical experience in cataloguing, classification and indexation standards such as MARC, DDC and RVM.
  • Flexible, multi-tasking and able to prioritise.
  • Open to continuous learning and curious to acquire new skills.
  • Team spirit, dynamism and sense of initiative.
  • Customer-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Good level in English and French (spoken & written).
