The Psychology Department in the College of Science, the University of Texas at Arlington, invites applications for a full-time tenured appointment as the Lewis Hollweg Endowed Professor of Industrial and Organizational Psychology at the rank of Full Professor.
The Lewis Hollweg Endowed Professorship is named for Dr. Lewis Hollweg, a licensed psychologist in the Dallas/Fort Worth, TX area who focuses on the measurement and development of individuals and teams. He has spent decades as a consultant, including co-founding Batrus Hollweg Intl, an HR software and consulting company which is now part of IBM. Currently he serves as Chief Information Officer at Hollweg Assessment Partners, a DFW-area consulting firm. True to the scientist-practitioner model, Dr. Hollweg's vision for this professorship reflects both the theoretical knowledge of the foundations of I/O and the practical application of this knowledge to the development of successful I/O practitioners: “…this professorship will help students and organizations come together to maximize each other's capacities and capabilities. The complexity of the amazing changes that I have witnessed as a business owner speak to a need to develop a more in-depth understanding of the intersection of people and the work environment.”
The successful candidate will be joining the department at an exciting time of growth and visibility. The Hollweg Professorship is the second endowed faculty position within the I/O Program at UTA, and will have the opportunity to work with other program faculty to shape the direction and planned growth in graduate I/O education.
