The Opportunity
Embark on a transformative journey as a Senior Research Fellow / Associate Professor (Research) at the Monash Business School's renowned Centre for Health Economics with the Monash Business School. In this pivotal role, you will help drive the development of a new research theme: 'Health care financing and market organisation', along with Professor Anthony Scott and Professor Dame Carol Propper. Aligned with the Centre's strategic priorities, this initiative is poised to redefine the landscape of health economics, with unparalleled support as you navigate the realms of independent research, project leadership, and academic excellence. About You
Level C Senior Research Fellow
The ideal candidate as the Senior Research Fellow will demonstrate a record of high-quality publications, conference papers, and technical contributions, showcasing a commitment to advancing the field of the economics of healthcare. Your research will focus on healthcare financing, provider incentives, healthcare labour markets, and the role of markets in healthcare. You will have strong skills in applied micro-econometrics and research interests in healthcare that apply public economics, labour economics or empirical industrial organisation. With a growing track record of securing external grants for research, you will be a key driver of innovation and excellence within the Centre. Your experience in successfully supervising, mentoring, and coaching research staff and teams, will contribute to our collaborative and high-achieving environment. Demonstrating the ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary research team, you will leverage your high-level organisational skills to plan and manage research funds effectively. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to convey the aims and outputs of research projects, are essential. Level D Associate Professor (Research)
We are seeking an accomplished and visionary academic to join us as an Associate Professor (Research) at the Centre for Health Economics. The ideal candidate will possess a distinguished national profile in the economics of healthcare, coupled with a trajectory towards international leadership. Your research will focus on healthcare financing, provider incentives, healthcare labour markets, and the role of markets in healthcare. With a significant track record of publishing in high-calibre international journals and a proven ability to secure research funding from diverse sources, you will be at the forefront of advancing our research agenda. You will have strong skills in applied micro-econometrics and research interests in healthcare that apply public economics, labour economics or empirical industrial organisation. Your expertise in managing and leading large-scale research projects and teams, including direct supervision of research staff, will be instrumental in driving innovation within the Centre. Adept at fostering effective interdisciplinary collaboration, you should demonstrate a deep understanding of the research environment.
