Course Description

Statics: review of vector mathematics; moment and force resultants; static equilibrium in two & three dimensions; centroids; center of gravity; distributed loadings. Dynamics: review of concepts of velocity and acceleration; dynamics of particles and rigid bodies; concepts of work, energy, momentum; introduction to vibrations. Four lectures per week.

Responsibilities

Civil and Environmental Engineering seeks one applicant to teach CEE 211 in the Fall term 2021 (August 30 – December 31, 2021). The class is scheduled on Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs from 8:30 am – 9:30 am, Room 2246 CSRB. The position will be 0.40 FTE (40% effort) and requires the lecturer be responsible for teaching students the topic of Statics and Dynamics.

Required Qualifications

A master's degree, or equivalent education and experience, in Civil Engineering is required. PhD in Civil Engineering preferred. Preference will be given to applicants with previous teaching experience and knowledge of the university policies and procedures.
