    The Opportunity

    Are you a dynamic and motivated professional ready to make a significant impact in the field of Materials Science and Engineering? Monash University, located on Clayton Campus in Melbourne, is seeking a passionate individual to fill the Level B - Lecturer position in our esteemed Department of Materials Science and Engineering.

    This Level B position offers a unique opportunity with an industry-sponsored appointment for the first 5 years, collaborating closely with a major industrial partner. During this period, you will collaborate closely with senior Professors to deliver impactful research outcomes to our industrial partner, while also contributing to teaching and service within the Department at a reduced load. After this initial phase, the position transitions to a traditional continuing Teaching & Research role.

  • Question 1. "Research plan" - outline your thoughts regarding your research portfolio you would like to build over the next 5 years, outside of the work with the industry partner. This is the opportunity for you to explain your research ideas and plans, topics you would like to address, tools you would like to develop, major new directions you would like to forge, etc. (Maximum 2 pages)

    Question 2. "Teaching Philosophy" - we would like to hear your thoughts about teaching and either your existing approaches, or the approaches you would like to develop. What do you think makes an excellent teacher, and what approaches would you like to adopt with your teaching. (Maximum 2 pages)

    Question 3. "Service Plan" - Service is a critical component to the functioning of all Departments at Monash. All staff contribute to Service, but each in different ways. Knowing what you do about the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Monash, do you see particular areas where you feel your skills could be of particular service? In what areas would you especially like to contribute to Service of the Department? (Maximum 2 pages)
