We have a unique opportunity for a Lecturer to teach and undertake research in the area of nutrition and dietetics with the following key responsibilities:

  • Deliver student focused learning and teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students in nutrition and dietetics.
  • Conduct digital and face to face seminars, tutorials, workshops, student field excursions and dietetic placement supervision
  • Contribute to curriculum innovation and content design
  • Supervise the program of study of honours students or postgraduate students engaged in coursework
  • Undertake nationally competitive and high quality research in discipline/field.
  • Participate in and act as co or chief investigator in applications for competitive funding
  • Disseminate research findings through seminars, workshops and conferences
  • Contribute to academic service, collegiality and engagement, including efficient management of internal service roles

    We are looking for someone with

  • A doctoral qualification or undertaking a PhD in a relevant field of nutrition and dietetics or equivalent.
  • Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) with qualifications recognised by Dietitians Australia
  • Relevant research and teaching experience in community dietetics and/or public health nutrition.
  • Demonstrated high level teaching skill and a demonstrated reflective approach to teaching delivery.
  • A strong understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice relevant to nutrition and dietetics and a record of contribution to scholarship in teaching.
  • An emerging record of research outputs/creative works in high quality refereed academic journals/outlets consistent with the discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience / capacity to undertake unit coordination role.
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to the development and supportive working environment
  • The ability to interact with students and staff with cross cultural sensitivity.
