Job Description

The Department of Leadership in Education in the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks applicants for a non-tenure-track lecturer, to begin September 1, 2021. Annual renewals are contingent upon performance, availability of resources, and department needs.

The lecturer is responsible for teaching and institutional service. Specific responsibilities include: 1) teaching graduate courses in the Educational Administration Program; 2) providing professional and academic advisement to master's and CAGS students; and 3) contributing service to the university, college, department, and program. We are especially interested in candidates who have leadership experience in educational institutions, particularly K-12 schools in urban areas. The department and CEHD are especially interested in candidates with sustained engagement with communities of color.

Candidates must have an earned master's in education or a related field (awarded prior to 6/1/2021), experience as a K-12 administrator, and demonstrated potential to successfully teach at the graduate level.

The Educational Administration program enrolls many full-time professionals with diverse backgrounds and work experiences. The curriculum focuses on preparing school and community-based educational leaders, who are committed to fostering and facilitating change in a social justice framework.
