Position Description:

The University of Iowa's Department of Health and Human Physiology invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track lecturer position in Sport and Recreation Management (SRM) for the academic year 2023-24, beginning August 16, 2023, renewable for a total of three years (2024-27) and renewable thereafter in three-year increments. Applications are sought from candidates with a demonstrated potential for outstanding teaching in (1) at least one, and preferably both, of the following two courses: Sport and Recreation Finance or Communications and Public Relations in Sport, and (2) two or more courses from the following list of SRM courses:

  • Contemporary Issues in Sports

  • Managerial Operations in Sport and Recreation

  • Sales in Sport

  • Liability in Sport and Recreation

  • Design and Management of Sport and Recreation Facilities

  • Sport Business Practices

  • Sport and Recreation Promotion

  • Sport Analytics

  • Duties of this position include teaching, service to the department and professional development.   • A master's or doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, JD) in sport management, recreation management, business administration or a related field of study is required in hand by the start date.
