Faculty of Environment, Science & Economy, University of Exeter Business School

The University of Exeter Business School seeks to appoint two Lecturers/Senior Lecturers in Sustainable Operations and Analytics to join our team of exceptional academics whose research and teaching impacts on the most fundamental challenges facing the world today.

We are looking for academics with an exciting research program and the ability to produce publications in leading international academic journals. Applicants should demonstrate an interest for positioning their work and contribution to Sustainable Operations and Analytics scholarship in the wider context of increasing socio-ecological challenges, disruptive technological and digital transformations, circular economy, as well as dramatic changes of socio- political scenarios. We are particularly interested in ambitious scholars, who aim to establish impactful research, willing to contribute to co-design and deliver cutting-edge education and teaching activities, and engage with students and learners from different and diverse backgrounds.

We are looking for a colleague with strong methodological skills and expertise. We are particularly interested in candidate demonstrating expertise in strategic management & analytics and its application to the international business and supply chain environment. The ideal candidate should be able to communicate the principles of strategy and analytics at UG, Masters and PhD level, including demonstration of analytics tools. The ideal candidate should present a strong interest for engaging in multi- and inter-disciplinary research and impact projects.

Specific areas of interest are, but not limited to:

  • Sustainable Strategy and Analytics
  • Sustainability and supply chain management
  • Responsible Strategy and Analytics
  • We are particularly interested in recruiting individuals who conduct research relevant to our fundamental themes of environmental sustainability, responsible leadership, and technological transformation.

    The individuals we are hoping to recruit will be able to bridge some of our key research themes and groups including:

  • Socio-technological transitions
  • Sustainable strategy and Climate Finance
  • ESG and Sustainable Strategy
  • Sustainability and global value chain governance

    For a Lecturer post you will have:

  • A strong and demonstrable interest in Business, Management, or related fields
  • A PhD or equivalent
  • An independent, active research programme in a relevant field of research that has the potential to become internationally leading
  • Evidence of attracting research funding, or demonstrate a clear potential to attract such funding
  • A strong potential for research leadership
  • Enthusiasm and/or experience for delivering high quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes
  • For a Senior Lecturer post, in addition to the above, you will have:

  • An internationally recognised research programme
  • A strong track record in refereed publications and success in significant grant capture
  • Clear evidence of research leadership
  • Relationships with external organisations and funders/ and knowledge and experience of key sectors or business challenges
