About the role

We are seeking brilliant, friendly, ambitious and inspirational sport psychologist to join the School of Health, Science and Wellbeing. Successful candidates would join an established teaching and research team associated to the Department of Sport and Exercise based at our Leek Road Campus in Stoke- on-Trent.

The role would include such activities as:

  • Preparing and delivering teaching and learning activity on various aspects of our sports related courses, with involvement across the wider department and school.
  • Delivery of in person and online, theory teaching, personal tutoring, and assessment.
  • Enhancement of the student experience and facilitating ongoing course evaluation and development.
  • Engaging with and developing innovative and effective teaching methods to enhance student engagement and achievement.
  • Contributing to student recruitment and ongoing promotion of the course.
  • Further develop your own research portfolio whilst contributing to the Department's existing research groups and/or centres such as The Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology Research Group.
  • The successful applicant will have extensive experience and knowledge of working in the higher education, and applied sport psychology, and will be very familiar with the requirements of the sport psychologists. Effective teamwork and excellent communication skills are essential. Formal teaching experience in higher education is preferred but is not essential for the Lecturer (Grade 7) post.
