  • Commencement Salary: $104,838 (Level B)/$127,680 (Level C) per annum (plus 17% superannuation)
  • About the Role

    LEVEL B This position is responsible for contributing to the teaching, research, scholarship, and professional activities of the Academic Unit. The teaching focus of this position will primarily be on coordination and teaching in Speech Pathology, however, due to an increased focus on multidisciplinary teaching, the position may be required to work with multidisciplinary student groups.

    LEVEL C This position will make an outstanding contribution to the academic leadership of the Academic Unit's teaching of undergraduate, honours and postgraduate programs, with a primary focus on the Speech Pathology discipline. The position will also make innovative contributions to the advancement of teaching and enhance the research profile of the Academic Unit through the development of a program of collaborative research supported by competitive research grant funding.

    The UniSA Allied Health and Human Performance Academic Unit offers a wide range of degrees and conducts research in the fields of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, podiatry, medical radiation sciences, medical sonography, speech pathology, clinical exercise physiology, exercise and nutrition, health sciences, public health, exercise and sport science, and human movement.

    Core Responsibilities

    LEVEL B

  • Develop, coordinate and deliver courses on campus, offshore, online or via other appropriate methods
  • Work collaboratively and reciprocally with staff in other Academic Units and other partner organisations to ensure that courses contain quality content
  • Contribute to research and scholarly activity, independently and/or as a member of a team
  • Create, foster and enhance national and international links with relevant industry, business, university and community bodies
  • Undertake course coordination duties
  • LEVEL C

  • Provide academic leadership to support the Academic Unit's teaching and learning initiatives in ways that will enhance the student experience
  • Teach and assess undergraduate/postgraduate courses in the Academic Unit's programs
  • Conduct research and scholarly activity, which results in publications in both academic refereed and professional journals and the presentation of conference papers/seminars
  • Actively contribute to Academic Unit and University activities, particularly in raising the profile of the Academic Unit's programs and research engagement
  • Plan, review and manage resources to facilitate the Academic Unit's teaching and research activities
  • Essential Skills and Experience

  • A PhD qualification in a relevant discipline, together with eligibility for practicing membership with Speech Pathology Australia
  • Demonstrated expertise, knowledge and a commitment to the contemporary practice of Speech Pathology
  • LEVEL B

  • Demonstrated high standard or interpersonal ability, written and oral communication skills and the ability to work independently and as a member of a diverse team
  • Demonstrated experience with a range of technologies and administration
  • Demonstrated experience in the administration of university academic courses and ability to interpret and apply university policies and procedures
  • LEVEL C

  • Demonstrated experience and a commitment to high quality, flexible teaching and learning outcomes, using a range of contemporary teaching methodologies and modes of delivery, including Inquiry Based Learning
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of academic leadership to develop a culture of teaching and learning excellence
  • Experience in teaching and supervision in Speech Pathology
