Job description

As a result of buoyant and growing student recruitment to our subject portfolio, we are seeking to recruit a Lecturer/Senior lecturer to join our Psychological Therapies & Mental Health team. This new additional post will support mutually agreed modules from our undergraduate or Postgraduate (including Distance Learning) provision in line with your experience and interest. We are looking for an enthusiastic and credible professional to make a key contribution to our academic provision through inspiring high-quality teaching of theory and practice along with some ambition to research in the area.

To be considered for interview all applicants are required to have as a minimum a postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject and for Senior lecturer ideally supplemented with a relevant professional registration, for example HCPC, NMC, BACP. Applications from candidates currently working in any aspect of mental health or therapeutic practice seeking a career change are very welcome.

Applicants need to be able to provide evidence of all or some of the following; demonstrate provision of engaging high-quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level; articulate some ambition for engagement in individual or collaborative research; express an in depth understanding of current policies and practice for counselling and/or mental health service provision; articulate synergies between contemporary practice and what you view to be the needs of students at under/post graduate levels.

Professional and practice knowledge of the following would be advantageous: Working in CBT or third wave therapies or working with relational and integrative approaches to therapeutic practice.
