The School of Human and Social Sciences offers a full range of awards from
foundation degrees to undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees. Our
courses and areas of expertise include Criminology and Policing,
Psychology , Education, Addiction Studies , Forensic Science ,
Nutritional Therapy, Politics and International Relations. Our courses are
accredited by professional bodies in the sciences, for example, The British
Psychological Society and the British Association of Counselling and
Psychotherapy (BACP), Forensic Science is accredited by the Chartered
Society of Forensic Sciences, Addiction studies by the Federation of Drug and
Alcohol Professionals and the Nutritional studies course by Nutritional
Therapy Education Commission (NTEC). We are rated as 3rd in London for
psychology courses and 2nd in London for forensic science courses by the
Guardian University Guide 2020.
The Education/Early Years area is a relatively new and growing area within the
School of Human and Social Sciences committed to offering courses that clearly
link theory with practice. We currently offer undergraduate degrees in
Education/Early Years. We also offer a Professional Doctorate and PhD in
We are currently seeking to appoint a lecturer to lead modules on our
Education and Early Years Education undergraduate course. The successful
candidate is expected to contribute to teaching at all levels from Level 3 to
Level 7 of our courses and to provide support to students enabling enabling
them to successfully apply theory to practice in early years settings.
The successful candidate will have a higher degree or equivalent professional
knowledge in education and/or early years education. They will be expected to
contribute to teaching at all levels from Level 3 to Level 7 and to provide
support to students enabling them to successfully apply theory to practice in
educational settings. They will provide outstanding and effective support to
our students at all levels, and contribute to the school's research, knowledge
exchange and community engagement activities as appropriate. They will be
expected to contribute to the research profile of the school with publications
commensurate with current stage of career.
