  • Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer / senior lecturer, contributing as part of a team to the School of Nursing pre-registration and post qualifying provision across all the school portfolios. Particular, but not exclusive focus will be upon the suite of courses offered at post registration, including Minor Injuries, minor ailments, physical assessment and non-medical prescribing The post is full time and will appeal to academics currently within the subject area, and clinicians interested in developing a role within teaching.

You will be an influential member of a close-knit group of academics behind a varied programme of research-led teaching, workshops, seminars and forward-thinking studies that build the integrated multiprofessional workforce within health and social care.

    Working within a team you will deliver the vibrant, real-world education your students deserve. You will have current clinical experience within Minor Injuries, Minor ailments and Non-Medical Prescribing for instance within an Emergency Department, Walk in Centre or General Practice ideally as an advanced autonomous practitioner, and you will hold appropriate professional body registration.

    Working side-by-side with talented colleagues you will share knowledge and expertise through professional consultancy, pursuing opportunities that will generate profitable income and supporting students with valuable placements wherever possible.

    The Person

    You will hold professional registration with a professional body and will have appropriate clinical experience within Minor Injuries, Minor Ailments and non- Medical Prescribing, inn working autonomously. A first degree is essential and an MSc or above is desirable. A prescribing qualification is also desirable. A recognised teaching or learning qualification is not essential although it is desirable. The university supports development of teaching and offers inhouse training. A teaching qualification and relevant level of UKPSF recognition, obtained through KU, if you are not already a teacher, is required before the end of your probation period. On a personal level, you are motivated to deliver exceptional teaching and support to our students. You will use your experience of working in Minor injuries to promote integrated high-quality evidence based professional practice across everything you do.

    Constantly seeking to improve, you will scrutinise your own work, build private and public sector networks, and work collaboratively to enhance the faculty's reputation in higher education and occupational circles.

    By the end of your probation period, you must have achieved the relevant level of UKPSF recognition (if this has not already been obtained). For those new to teaching, this will be through our accredited Introduction to Learning and Teaching and for those experienced in teaching, through our Kingston Academic Practice Standards Framework.

    This is a part time permanent role, working 30 hours a week with a starting salary of £34,167.40 (0.81% of 42,182) per annum for a Lecturer, and £38,073.20 (0.81% of £47,004) per annum for a Senior Lecturer.
