About the role:
You'll join our School of Life Sciences working in the Biology subject team,
based in our Faculty of Science and Engineering. We're a forward-looking and
enthusiastic School with a vision that combines commitment to a strong and
active research culture with excellence in learning and teaching. We are
seeking a motivated academic who has the commitment and ability to make a full
and active contribution to our teaching and administration within the School.
You'll contribute to teaching and administration in our courses, which cover
areas of animal behaviour, biodiversity, conservation, marine biology and
zoology. You'll also contribute to our research culture, working with
colleagues in the Behavioural Ecology Research Group (BERG) and/or the
Applied Ecology Research Group (AERG). Between them the BERG and AERG had 14
staff submitted for REF 2021, and in the previous REF the majority of our
papers were judged as internationally excellent or world leading.
With a PhD or professional doctorate (or nearing completion) in a related
discipline, you'll also have teaching experience in higher education. You'll
be committed to research and prepared to work as part of multi-disciplinary
teams as well as developing your personal research activities. You'll possess
excellent communications skills and will demonstrate a flexible approach to
