  • An exciting teaching secondment opportunity has arisen for a clinically credible adult cardiac nurse practitioner with a keen interest in education. The post will suit an appropriately qualified and experienced nurse who seeks experience of teaching within higher education. The secondment will operate on a salary recharge basis (university refunds employer with salary equating to the hours worked for the university), allowing the appointee to remain on their NHS contract/salary.

Abreast of current clinical developments, in this secondment role you will promote and develop cardiac nursing to meet workforce development needs. The role will primarily focus on teaching the School's specialist cardiac modules for qualified practitioners (levels 6 and 7). You may also contribute to other modules across the School, aligned to your area of expertise.

    The Person

You will be passionate about cardiac nursing, with enthusiasm for developing innovative education programmes. Credible in your specialism, you will have excellent communication skills and demonstrate the confidence to inspire a diverse range of students. You are likely to be a highly qualified adult nurse, specialist/advanced practitioner or practice educator with substantial adult cardiac care experience.

You'll have current NMC registration and a Master's degree in nursing/ healthcare (or be working towards this), alongside evidence of professional development in cardiac care. You'll also have teaching experience, and possibly a teaching qualification. An induction and on-the-job training will be provided, along with mentoring.

Applicants will be required to demonstrate that they meet the Kingston University standards in learning and teaching.

    The Faculty

    School of Nursing

Our people are passionate about developing nurses for the future, in each of the four fields of nursing – adult, child, learning disability and mental health. Alongside being committed to providing contemporary, cutting-edge continuing professional development for qualified health care professionals.

Interviews will be held on Monday 9 January 2023.
