The Department of Accounting and Finance at Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) invites applications for Lecturer and Senior Lecturer (Assistant and Associate Professor) positions in Accounting. The Department welcomes applications in all areas of accounting. Significant reductions in teaching duties over the first years may apply for exceptional candidates.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
All candidates should have a Ph.D. in Accounting or a related discipline or should be expected to complete their Ph.D. in the near future. Depending on qualifications and experience, candidates can be appointed at the Lecturer (Assistant Professor) or Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) level. Candidates for Lecturer (Assistant Professor) positions should be able to pursue their own independent research and develop publications in high quality and top accounting journals and should be able to deliver excellent teaching in both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Candidates for Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) positions should be independent researchers with a track-record of publications in top accounting journals (e.g., The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting and Economics , and The Journal of Accounting Research ) and evidence of teaching excellence. Lecturer (Assistant Professor) positions carry a typical total salary package of up to £60,000 per annum. Senior lecturer (associate professor) positions carry a typical total salary package of up to £70,000 per annum. In exceptional circumstances, for both level of positions, it may be possible to offer an additional supplement. Any such supplement would be awarded on the basis of a demonstrable record of exceptional achievement and is entirely at the discretion of the University.
