Job description

Established in 1828, the University of Central Lancashire is a leading modern University located in the city of Preston. The School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences is part of the Faculty of Clinical and Biomedical Sciences, which also includes Medicine and Dentistry. The School offers several undergraduate and postgraduate healthcare related degrees including the Master of Pharmacy and an expanding suite of postgraduate provision, including an MSc in Advanced Pharmacy Practice and a certificate Independent Prescribing. The School offers a friendly and supportive learning environment with state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities.

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Pharmacy Practice who will contribute to, and lead in, the areas of course delivery, management and development of the MPharm and related postgraduate programmes in the School. The successful applicant will join a multidisciplinary team and contribute to research and knowledge transfer through scholarly activities.

The successful applicant needs to hold current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council or other relevant regulatory body and will ideally be an Independent Prescriber. Current/recent experience of working in a primary or secondary care setting is essential with experience of teaching in higher education and a formal teaching qualification or membership of the HE Academy for the senior lecturer post, along with holding a good MPharm honours degree for either position. A motivated and enthusiastic individual, the successful candidate will be an active networker, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences.

Excellent communication skills, involvement in delivery and co-ordinating teaching and the ability to work in a team are essential for this position.
