Lecturer in Social Sciences (Ref. No. L644)

Aberdeen City Campus/ Full-time/Permanent

Salary: £35,170 - £43,357 pro rata per annum

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, organised and dynamic individual to deliver on our Social Science programmes which range in level from SCQF 5 to SCQF 8.

It is essential that you are educated to degree level or equivalent in the relevant subject area of Psychology but also have experience of other social science disciplines. You will have relevant vocational experience and have excellent communication and presentation skills.

If you are a highly effective team player who has the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with students and colleagues we want you to come and join our team.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

  • Working knowledge of Psychology and at least one other social science discipline e.g. Sociology, Criminology, Politics, Social Science Research Methodology etc.
  • Good communication skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to develop and use appropriate learning/teaching/training materials
  • Computer literate
  • Knowledge and/or experience of the use of electronic learning materials
  • EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Sciences
  • Up to date experience of Social Science areas of research and study.
  • Teaching or training experience
  • Teaching qualification (TQFE or equivalent)
  • Assessment experience
  • Assessment qualification
  • ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence)
  • GTC registration
  • PERSONAL QUALITIES
