Lecturer in Primary Mathematics Education School of Education Location: Brighton - Falmer

You will be joining a successful and dynamic team who, through a continued commitment to research and teaching excellence, strive to maximise students' potential as future specialists of their subject. We are therefore seeking to appoint a highly motivated, innovative and effective practitioner who is keen to promote academic studies in education across the school and beyond. You should be able to demonstrate a passion for teaching and students' learning, and be able to offer a clear rationale for your pedagogy.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting students to develop subject knowledge and teaching skills, sharing both practical expertise and relevant scholarship with students as primary maths education specialist. The applicant will - depending on individual profile - contribute to a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate and work-related programmes.

Rated outstanding by Ofsted for early years, primary and secondary education in our latest inspection (November 2018), we are ranked in the top 15 for education courses in the UK in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2021. The School of Education has consistently gained very strong feedback from our student body with 88% overall satisfaction in the 2019 National Student Survey results. We have been voted School of the Year by the Brighton Students' Union for two years in a row.

Programmes are delivered across the full calendar year and can involve some work on evenings and Saturdays. The successful candidate will be expected to travel to partner schools and settings supporting students' professional learning in collaboration with a range of professionals from these placements.

Due to the nature of this post a DBS check will be required.
