    The post is in the Pre Registration Nursing team (which includes Nursing Associate provision) and will involve teaching and assessing students in practice modules and working as a practice assessor within virtual and student led placements. The programme recruits apprenticeship learners as NA's and UCAS entrance students both pre registration and NAs. You will be supported by the Pre Registration Team and the successful applicant will be designated areas of responsibility within this field of practice in accordance with their area of clinical experience and expertise. You will initially be supported to teach face to face and on-line and will support students as allocated in virtual and actual clinical practice. Teaching materials will need to be developed for the practice modules and shadowing will be used as necessary to develop competence and confidence in theoretical teaching and marking. You will be given the opportunity to develop as an Associate Fellow of the Higher Academy of teaching and learning and you will be given a mentor for the duration of the fixed term post.

    About you

    You must be a Registered Nurse with post qualifying experience. You must have experience of working in nursing environments and be able to demonstrate your ability to work and lead delegated care in that setting. You must have experience of supporting learners in practice settings and be conversant with the Nursing and Midwifery Standards of Education (2018). You must be a team player with excellent communication and networking skills. You should be able to manage deadlines and competing demands and be able to teach with the initial support of the team a range of prepared teaching materials to first, second and third year. You must be willing to engage in the role of Practice Assessor placing good communication with students and staff at centre of every interaction. You must be willing to develop the skills required to facilitate virtual and student led placements whilst also visiting students out in clinical practice.

  • Master's degree in relevant subject
  • Professional Recognition as HEA Fellow (D2) or teaching qualification recognised by HESA, or willingness to obtain within an agreed timescale
