Position Title (Classification Title): Lecturer in Nursing 107640
Working Title: Lecturer
Job Summary: This faculty member will primarily be responsible for providing
education for undergraduate pre-licensure nursing students in the classroom
and clinical settings. In addition to being able to provide education for on-
campus and online nursing students, the candidate must be eligible and able to
work with students in clinical settings. The position responsibilities include
use of technology in the classroom, and provision of supervision and direction
for students in a broad range of clinical settings including maternal, med-
surg, mental health, and critical care.
Position Minimum Qualifications: Master's in Nursing from an accredited
institution with a commitment to education, scholarship, and service, and a
valid and unencumbered Florida nursing license prior to the start of classes.
Preferred Qualifications Experience in education at the undergraduate level,
recent hospital or other type of clinical care experience, experience in
maternal and med-surg care, understanding of curriculum, education, and
evaluation. The ability to incorporate evidence-based teaching strategies for
higher education into course delivery. The candidate should be committed to
collegiality, innovation in teaching and learning, and be an active member of
the academic community. A Ph.D. in nursing or related field or DNP from an
accredited institution, and commitment to education, scholarship and service.
