This is a unique opportunity to join a vibrant, growing, and collegial Department of Media.

The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, supervision, and curriculum design in the Bachelor of Media, which offers specialisations including Immersive Media, Story Production, Visual Design, Social Media & Digital Promotion, and Journalism, as well as in the Master of Immersive Media Technologies, a unique, cross-disciplinary program. You will also contribute to the Faculty's culture of research excellence through your high quality research, scholarship, and engagement.

To be successful you will need:

  • A PhD in Media or related discipline.
  • Subject area expertise in immersive media (virtual, mixed, and/or augmented realities), and ability to teach other media topics (including media production, digital game development, 3D graphics and animation, and/or AI).
  • Demonstrated capacity for excellence in the design and delivery of theoretical and practical coursework at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Record of high-quality research, including a demonstrated capacity to attract research grant and/or consultancy funding.
  • Thorough knowledge of current and emerging media industry practices, standards and expectations.
