Job description

2 years Fixed Term Contract

CU London is part of the Coventry University Group. Our Dagenham campus was opened in 2017. It is a grade II-listed former Civic Centre, with a £4.5 million renovation that is purpose built for students and staff.

As the largest School in the University, the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health has a broad provision of health profession related courses, including a large portfolio of CPD courses at UG and PG levels. Due to our continued success and growth we now deliver the Practice Certificate in Independent and Supplementary Prescribing at our Dagenham campus for students from the North East London NHS Foundation Trust.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic individual to take up a full-time position as a Lecturer in Independent Prescribing on an initial two-year contract. Applicants must be a registered health professional with a prescribing qualification; we would welcome applications from nurses, AHPs and pharmacists.

The successful candidate will work closely with the prescribing team at Coventry university whilst contributing to the development and delivery of our well established suite of post registration prescribing courses at CU London, Dagenham campus. They will have a high level of inter-personal skills and personal effectiveness to promote a high-quality experience for all of our students. Their teaching approach will be flexible, student-centred and research informed. Previous experience of teaching within a higher education institution is highly desirable but not essential.

The University offers academic and professional development and there is the opportunity of a Post Graduate Certificate Teaching Qualification for individuals who do not hold a recognised teaching qualification. You will be supported to develop your interests in order to progress your career. Salary is dependent on experience.

Informal enquiries should be addressed to Clare James - clare.james@coventry.ac.uk
