Brandeis University invites applications for a Lecturer in the Department of Economics to teach one section of the following course during the spring semester of 2022.

ECON 59B The Economics of Education

Prerequisite: ECON 2a or ECON 10a

An introduction to economic analysis of the education sector. Topics include the concept of human capital, private and social return on investment in education, cost-benefit analysis of educational programs, and issues in the financing of education. In-person teaching is strongly preferred.

Candidates should be prepared to hold office hours.

Applicants having a Ph.D. in Economics or a related discipline, and previous university-level teaching experience, should submit a single PDF file containing a curriculum vitae, a teaching statement detailing previous experience and teaching methodology, and evidence of teaching effectiveness (i.e., course evaluations).

We will begin reviewing applications on September 10, 2021, and applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

This appointment is to a position that is in a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 509.
