We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer (Teaching & Scholarship) in the Chemistry Department to contribute to undergraduate teaching of Digital Chemistry (e.g. coding, data analysis, modelling and simulations, measurement computational chemistry, and automation, etc.) as well as to support the development of a new faculty-wide MSc programme in Applied Data Sciences.
The MSc will start in 2023 with topics such as programming, statistics, machine learning, big data, and data visualisation applied to the natural sciences. The programme will equip science graduates with a range of data science skills that can be used across scientific disciplines, either in academia or industry. The appointee will support the ongoing development of course material for the new programme, and there may also be opportunities to gain experience in the admissions and marketing aspects of the course.
For the undergraduate courses, activities may include the design and running of teaching in support of laboratory activities, as well as delivery of lectures, tutorials and workshops. Both UG and PG teaching may involve supervision of project students, pastoral support, and providing an excellent student experience for students.
