  • Commencement Salary: Level A $96,929 or Level B $109,074 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)
  • About the Role

    The position is responsible for the development, delivery and coordination of courses within STEM's undergraduate, Honours and postgraduate programs and for contributing to STEM's research agenda.

    LEVEL A

    The appointee will work with guidance and direction from other academic staff and undertake duties with increasing autonomy as they gain skills and experience. The position will contribute independently and as part of a team to support STEM's teaching and research outcomes in the Information Technology discipline, with a particular focus on Cyber Security, and will carry out activities to maintain and develop scholarly research and/or professional activities.

    Core Responsibilities

    LEVEL A

  • Contribute to the design and development of engaging, relevant and technology-enhanced curricula for identified programs and courses
  • Apply research and scholarship to the development of courses, including investigating and developing alternative teaching methods and the initiation and development of new material
  • Contribute to research and scholarly activity, independently and/or as a member of a team that results in publications in academic journals and the presentation of conference papers, where appropriate.
  • Develop an emerging record of research activity through success in national competitive grants and/or obtaining government and/or industry funding for research activity
  • Establish and nurture collaborations to raise the profile of the discipline and have positive outcomes for the University's research and education programs and undertake course coordination as required
  • LEVEL B

  • Lead and contribute to the design and development of engaging, relevant and technology- enhanced curricula for identified programs and courses
  • Deliver high-quality teaching that is informed by relevant research, scholarship and industry practice and use the necessary digital techniques required for effective curriculum delivery, as demonstrated via a range of University approved data sources (e.g. student outcomes, student feedback, peer review)
  • Contribute to research and scholarly activity, independently and/or as a member of a team that results in publications in academic journals and the presentation of conference papers, where appropriate
  • Contribute to research activity through success in national competitive grants and/or obtaining government and/or industry funding for research activity
  • Establish and nurture collaborations to raise the profile of the discipline and have positive outcomes for the University's research and education programs and undertake course coordination and/or provide leadership to Level A academic staff in the teaching team
  • Essential Skills and Experience

    LEVEL A

  • A Bachelor or higher degree qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake research that contributes to UniSA's research strengths and strategic directions in Cyber Security, and an emerging record of research publications
  • Demonstrated ability or potential in the development and delivery of high- quality teaching and learning experiences in the areas of Cyber Security or Information Technology in a range of settings and student experience levels
  • Understanding of a range of contemporary teaching methodologies for excellent curriculum delivery
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching through continual development and improving performance
  • LEVEL B

  • A doctoral qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake research that contributes to UniSA's research strengths and strategic directions in Cyber Security.
  • An emerging record of research publications, student supervision and/or grant acquisition, relative to experience
  • Demonstrated record of the development and delivery of high-quality teaching and learning experiences in the areas of Cyber Security or Information Technology in a range of settings and student experience levels
  • Understanding and experience in using a range of contemporary teaching methodologies for excellent curriculum delivery
