  • We seek to appoint an inspiring Lecturer in Computer Science (Cyber Security), with a broad range of skills across the field. They should have the ability to motivate and support our students in realising their potential and achieving competitive skills through creative approaches. The provision of high-quality, student-centred, innovative teaching on our undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including the NCSC certified Master's degree in Network and Information Security - and a full engagement in our ambitious, newly established Centre for Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity Education and Culture, will be the main focus.

    The Person

    The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate knowledge in the relevant areas of computer science such as cyber security, computer forensics or networking and excellence in the teaching delivery. They will be ready to adopt and practice innovative pedagogic methods and develop their research potential and professional practice to produce outputs of the standard required for REF submission. It is essential that the candidates have a doctoral level qualification and appropriate research and professional skills in a relevant area of computer science.

    Applicants will be required to demonstrate that they meet the Kingston University standards in learning and teaching, and research. By the end of the probation period, you must have achieved the relevant level of UKPSF recognition (if this has not already been obtained). For those new to teaching, this will be through our accredited Introduction to Learning and Teaching and for those experienced in teaching, through our Kingston Academic Practice Standards Framework.

    The School of Computer Science and Mathematics at Kingston University is a dynamic, modern school, recognised for its professional strength in areas including computer science, games, cyber security, digital media technology and mathematics. Kingston University offers high quality undergraduate and postgraduate courses focused on applied computer science and mathematics, cyber security, games and digital media – designed to reflect the developing needs of business and industry.     This is a full time, fixed term position for 1 year with a starting salary of £39,932 per annum.
