Grade 7 - £34,804 to £39,152 per annum, dependent on experience (fixed term
for 12 months)
The criminology subject group in the Department of Law and Criminology is a
diverse mix of colleagues with a broad range of academic and professional
practice experience. The primary focus is on the applied nature of criminology
underpinned by strong theoretical knowledge, the development and application
of research skills and the enhancement of graduate attributes.
As a lecturer you will make an immediate contribution to the department,
supporting the development and delivery of the University's Applied Knowledge
offer. Teaching duties will include undergraduate and postgraduate teaching,
assessment, student support provision and other related duties. You will be
expected to contribute to research and other forms of scholarly activity as
part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will also be expected to support
students who are engaged with authentic work experience or placements.
You must have a good honours degree in a relevant subject and experience of
teaching across the discipline of criminology. Knowledge of relevant
employment sector opportunities to support and enable student engagement with
authentic work experience and well-developed current knowledge and
understanding of critical, practical and theoretical issues relevant to the
teaching of criminology is also essential.
