Lecturer in Cell Biology

College of Health Wellbeing&Life; Science Academic Grade7 - £34,804 to £39,152 dependent on experience

The Department of Biosciences and Chemistry provides vocationally focused courses in applied biological and chemical sciences - all delivered in a supportive, research-informed environment. We have an emphasis on developing practical and professional skills throughout our courses.

Our team are committed to enhancing teaching quality and delivering an excellent student experience. We are now looking for a lecturer with these same attributes, with the flexibility to teach cell and cancer biology as well as contributing to a range of other areas across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in biomedical and healthcare science.

You will be involved in all aspects of learning, teaching and assessment, including: • Preparation and delivery of tuition and assessment of students • Supervision of practical classes • Supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate projects and dissertations • Associated module administration • Support of students on placement

You should have a good honours degree and a doctorate in a biological sciences related discipline (or equivalent qualification, as confirmed by NARIC. You must have well developed and current knowledge and understanding of, practical and theoretical issues relevant to cell biology and/or cancer biology to underpin excellent teaching in biomedical science context and the ability to design and deliver transformative and innovative learning experiences
