Description

The Department of the Built Environment is inviting applications for the post of Lecturer in Building Surveying, on a full or part time basis (Please check separate job descriptions).

We are looking for an inspiring and enthusiastic academic/practitioner to make a key contribution through teaching, research and enterprise to our academic provision of undergraduate courses in the built environment discipline.

You will be expected to lead and teach in core areas within the quantity surveying and management disciplines, such as building pathology, building conservation, condition and measured surveys, asset management, RICS competences.

We welcome applicants with a good undergraduate / postgraduate qualification (or equivalent) in a building surveying related subject. Experience of working within or in close association with industry, and/or academic experience in higher education will be highly valued for the position. A professional qualification (from RICS/CIOB or similar) or eligibility to gain it would be desirable.

In addition, you will contribute to the broader academic work of the Built Environment Department including recruitment, course development and student mentoring initiatives.
