The School's activities are organised into four Directorates, currently totalling around 4,800 students: Art and Design; Creative Technology, Journalism, Politics and Contemporary History; Film and Broadcast Media; and Performance, Music, English and Dance.

We are delighted that you are interested in finding out more about our current vacancy for the role of Lecturer in Animation in the School of Arts, Media and Creative Technology.

We are looking for an inspiring and resourceful candidate to continue to enhance our undergraduate provision in animation and to support the launch of an exciting new MA in Animation from September 2022, advancing practice and research in this area. The successful candidate will have an established or emerging academic track record, as well as relevant industry experience and a passion to work with students from diverse backgrounds. The BA (Hons) Animation at Salford is an exciting, practice-based programme that fuses craft and theory to produce engaged and motivated students who can work collaboratively across a range of related media disciplines. Our degrees focus on creativity in practice, research and project work with industry and fosters collaboration between different subject disciplines. We are based in a cutting-edge digital facility at the heart of MediaCityUK, surrounded by industry leaders and major contributors to high-end animation production. The degree has access to a range of impressive industry-level facilities for all stages of production. Visiting industry speakers are integral to the programme and ensure our programme stays ahead of industry practices and technologies. Our practitioner academics engage students work in external opportunities in order to prepare graduates for work and a career in industry.

This is a full-time permanent position and the starting salary is £42,149 per annum.
