About the Department
The largest department in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences,
English offers a range of undergraduate majors and concentrations, minors, and
graduate programs. We also offer many courses of interest to the University
community as a whole, and we work with other departments and programs such as
Foreign Languages and Literatures, Women's Studies, Communication, Education
to furnish multidisciplinary opportunities for NC State students.
Essential Job Duties
The Department of English is accepting applications for the position of
Lecturer on a full-time and/or part-time basis in areas such as
Composition, Literature, Linguistics, Film, Creative Writing and
Professional Writing for Summer 2021, Fall 2021 and Spring 2022.
These positions are short term, non-tenure track appointments.
Candidates will be hired as Lecturer based on credentials and
Perform other duties as assigned by the department head.
Minimum Education and Experience
A Master's degree in a relevant field and experience teaching writing at the
college level are required.
Degree must be obtained prior to start date.
Other Required Qualifications
A demonstrated commitment to excellent in teaching.
Strong communication skills.
Special training or experience with online or blended instruction is
Graduate coursework in writing pedagogy preferred.
