The LTC Creative Art and Design Tutor provides tutoring support to students in courses, including digital arts and design, within the college's Creative Arts and Design academic focus area. The Tutor may also provide academic support with basic skills of English, reading, and study skills, as well as with College-supported software programs. The Tutor will perform general Learning and Tutoring Center tasks as assigned.
1. Provides tutorial assistance for students enrolled in courses within the Creative Arts and Design academic focus area. 2. Assists students in developing and applying appropriate study/learning strategies for the subject area. 3. Assists student in using software and technology related to the subject area 4. Assists students in the Learning and Tutoring Center with standard college software programs, computer-aided instruction, and other common center tasks. 5. Promotes academic support services through classroom visits and personal contacts with faculty, staff, and students. 6. Attends work activities or programs as scheduled or assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Knowledge of, and demonstrated success in, a range of courses in the Creative Arts and Design academic focus area. 2. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite. 3. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and knowledge of, or ability to learn, current college-supported software applications. 4. Ability to communicate and listen effectively. 5. Understanding of adult learners' specific educational needs. 6. Ability to demonstrate cooperation and professionalism while maintaining patience and understanding in stressful situations. 7. Ability to effectively work and interact with various cultures and ethnicities.

Required Qualification
Associate degree or pursuit of an Associate degree. Minimum 3.25 GPA with a minimum of 42 quarter hours (or the equivalent) of academic work plus a minimum of “B” grades in coursework related to the tutoring subject required.
Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience considered.
Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands Salary/Hourly Rate $15.91 minimum
