The Leadership Gifts Officer forms and grows relationships with individuals who invest in Roosevelt University's mission and vision through charitable giving. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of University Advancement, the Leadership Gifts Officer is an important member of the advancement team and is primarily responsible for cultivating and soliciting leadership gifts at or under $25,000. The Leadership Gifts Officer develops strategies that foster annual pledges and recurring gifts, and they provide support for donor engagement communications and events. The officer collaborates with the development team to ensure annual fundraising targets are met.
This is a full-time, exempt, administrative position located at the Chicago campus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
A bachelor's degree
A minimum of 5 years of higher education and development experience, or related professional experience.
Demonstrated persistency and ability to cultivate and close on leadership gifts over $2,000.
Ability and energy to build new relationships and communities on an ongoing basis.
Strength in developing and executing strategic and comprehensive fundraising plans to achieve goals.
Ability to work collaboratively across disciplinary and interdisciplinary lines, and to interact successfully with a diverse constituency of varying backgrounds.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver an effective and consistent message and communication style that is compelling. Strong attention to detail.
A self-starter who takes initiative, has an ability to work independently, highly developed organizational and leadership skills.
Candidate must communicate and employ interpersonal actions that model responsible, accountable and ethical conducts.
Demonstrated organizational, time management and interpersonal skills.
Adherence to CASE standards and commonly accepted industry standards relating to fundraising reporting.
Demonstrated computer competency and knowledgeable of Word, Razors Edge database management and marketing automation tools.
Ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
Ability to travel in and out of state.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of professional experience related to sales, marketing, development, higher education and project management. Knowledge and experience using Blackbaud CRM system.
Equipment Operated Working Conditions
Normal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Occasional bending, lifting, pushing and/or pulling is required (typically less than 10 lbs of weight). Regular use of desktop computer is required calling for frequent hand/wrist movement and repetition. Moderate level of stress. Frequent travel within the local, regional and national setting.
