The Admissions Associate is responsible for providing administrative support for the JD Admissions Office, and engaging prospective law students and applicants in order to highlight the programs and opportunities available at Chicago-Kent with a particular focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion outreach and recruitment. Responsibilities include managing the fall and spring recruitment schedules; conducting outreach to HBCUs and prelaw groups; responding to all correspondence sent to the admissions email account; conducting follow-up with applicants to ensure the timely completion of applicant files; and counseling prospective students and applicants by phone and in person regarding the admissions process. The position also coordinates all administrative aspects of the Prelaw Undergraduate Scholars (PLUS) pipeline program, a rigorous three- week summer program that is designed to prepare students from groups that are underrepresented in the legal profession for law school and legal careers. The position reports to both the Assistant Dean for Admissions and the Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
Communicate with prospective and admitted students by phone and in person. Correspond with prospective students and applicants by email. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Provide outstanding service to prospective law students and ensure that applications are processed in a timely manner. Ensure that all prospective students receive timely and accurate responses to their inquiries. Excellent interpersonal and student service skills are required.
Special Schedule Requirements
Occasional evenings and weekends are required for admissions events. Some travel may be required.

Education & Experience
A bachelor's degree is required. Previous admissions or marketing experience is preferred, but not required.
Knowledge & Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and student service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and work independently. Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite or related software preferred.
SUPERVISION & BUDGET AUTHORITY
Authority to expend funds from the Admissions and PLUS budgets for established programs and activities.
Physical Environment and Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times.

Position requires a valid driver's license.
Manage the fall and spring recruitment schedules which includes registering for events, submitting payments, shipping materials, and ensuring a staff member is assigned to each event. Conduct outreach to HBCUs and other diverse institutions, prelaw groups, and prelaw advisors in order to increase the pool of diverse applicants to Chicago-Kent. Provide support with on-campus event planning and logistics as well as prelaw group visits to Chicago-Kent.
Percentage Of Time 30 Key Responsibility
Answer inquiries by phone, email, and in person regarding the JD program and admissions policies. Assume primary responsibility for managing and responding to all emails sent to the Admissions email account. Counsel applicants about the status of their applications and provide general information about the law school. Follow up with incomplete applicants to ensure the timely completion of their files.
Percentage Of Time 30 Key Responsibility
RunCRSqueries in Unite and process the lists for mailings and emails. Run forum registrant queries and imports. Run acceptance letters for admitted applicants. Provide administrative support for the Office of Admissions as needed.
Percentage Of Time 15 Key Responsibility
Coordinate all administrative aspects of the Prelaw Undergraduate Scholars (PLUS) summer pipeline program including recruiting, application processing,
selection, program planning, execution, wrap-up and follow-up, to ensure that tasks are completed according to goals, budget, and timeline. Manage thePLUSemail account and respond to inquiries. Regularly communicate with prospective, admitted and participating scholars to provide information, respond to questions, confirm program schedules and discuss any program expectations and/or problems. Regularly communicate and coordinate with the program TA, RA, participating Chicago-Kent faculty and staff, and external program participants regarding the program status, program content, program schedule, scholar assignments and assessments, program requirements, deadlines and timeline. Collect and summarize program evaluation data. Follow up with scholars to provide relevant law school resources and information and to monitor their educational and career status. Perform other related duties as assigned.
