  • The project plans to analyze the relationship between large foreign-capital companies and the Italian production chains from different perspectives. The research aims to answer the following questions: 1) what is the extension in terms of added value and employees of the supply chains of the main foreign- capital companies? 2) what organizational forms exist between local suppliers and foreign-capital companies? 3) what are the advantages and limits of the different organizational forms? 4) how do Italian companies participate in global value chains directly or indirectly through the links they have with foreign-capital companies? 5) what factors would need to be strengthened in order to make chains more robust and resilient? 6) what effect does participation in global value chains have on the financing capacity of SMEs? The research will proceed through close collaboration between the academic world, researchers and multinational companies in Italy.
