In the laboratory of Dr. Fujita in the UTA Biology Department. The National Science Foundation-funded position will support scientific research to understand the evolution of chemical signals in lizards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze pre-collected transcriptomic data from multiple lizards to understand the evolution of chemical signals.
  • Engage in professional development team activities, including attend lab meetings, departmental seminars, and assisting with bioinformatics work of other members of the lab.
  • Professional skills development of learning Python, SQL, R, and Java. These skills will contribute to the data analysis part of the job.
  • Assist with general lab management and tracking what needs to be ordered.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field (i.e., Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biology).
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year of experience working in a research lab setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, highly organized, and detail oriented.
  • Solid computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office, GraphPad Prism, and other relevant programs.
