Specific Requirements

Admission requirements :

Academic degree - Bachelor in Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related areas;

Preference is given to candidates with:

Previous experience in cell line development and/or with experience in viral vectors production.

Proven experience in aseptic techniques for cell culture and other good laboratory practices.

Proven experience in Molecular Biology techniques (such as qPCR or cell engineering approaches);

Strong motivation for applied research;

Strong organizational skills;

Proficiency in spoken and written English;

Benefits

Fellowship Duration : The fellowship will have a duration of 5 months, eventually renewed until the end of project, without prejudice of the maximum limits foreseen by law. The expected starting date is 1st of October of 2023.

Stipend : The fellowship is 884,90 Euros per month, in accord with the regulations of FCT, I.P. (https: // www. fct.pt/wp- content/uploads/2023/02/Tabela-de-Valores-SMM2023.pdf), paid by bank transfer. Social Security is also available, if required

Notification of Results: A list with the order of selection of candidates will be published in a public and visible place at the Instituto de Biologia Experimental e Tecnológica (www. ibet.pt), and the selected candidate will be notified by e-mail.

Timing and Application Format : Applications will be accepted from 20 of August until 20 of September 2023.

Applications must be formalized with a motivation letter, Curriculum Vitae (CV) and diploma certificate. If the degree or diploma has been granted by a foreign higher education institution, it must comply with the provisions of Portuguese Decree-Law 341/2007 of October 12, and any formalities established therein must be completed by the end of the deadline for the application.

Selection process

Selection criteria : The selection of the candidates will be made according to the following:

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 16 values – 30%;

Curriculum Assessment (CV) according to the admission requirements – 70%

Curriculum Assessment will be carried out according to the admission requirements. If the jury so wishes, can proceed with interviews. The interview will be made to the 2 candidates best positioned after Curriculum Assessment. Thus, the final evaluation will consist of 90% of curriculum evaluation and 10% of the interview evaluation.

Applicants who do not meet the above admission requirements will not be eligible.
