- Performs assigned experiments for the laboratory under the primary direction of the Principal Investigator. - Provides guidance to students, research assistants, and research residents. - Attends to general laboratory matters including but not limited to: literature searches, experiments, supply inventory/purchases, interaction with sales representatives, development of manuscripts, etc. - Responsible for research experiments: design, preparation, execution, interpretation, analysis, and figure preparation. - Responsible for maintenance of lab: ordering, stocking, restocking, organization of materials, cleaning, filing, preventative maintenance and repair of all machines. - Provides instruction on computer programs to other lab members. - Addresses any problems/complaints lab members have regarding materials (including experimental materials, computer issues, timing issues for their work). - Monitors and instructs new lab members and summer students; provides instruction on how to correctly record and analyze results. - Serves as liaison with vendors and provides research on necessary products and protocols. - Performs other duties as required.
