    To strengthen our excellent research team, which is focused on the development and research of innovative approaches for the treatment of childhood cancer, we are looking for a Lab Manager/Technical Assistant (m/f/d) in Leukemia and Chromatin Biology. In this responsible role, you will have the unique opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary competence center for pediatric oncology and to have a direct influence on the development of new cancer therapies.

    Our group (www. seruggialab.com) has been founded in 2021 and is looking for a highly organized person with laboratory experience in molecular/cellular biology, flow cytometry or mouse work. This person will help to run the lab, establish and develop processes, handle orders and lab stocks, and assist on multiple projects in the context of hematopoiesis and leukemia.

    Your responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for general lab management (eg ordering, stocktaking, preparation of general reagents and administrative tasks)
  • You will support our ongoing research projects in the context of hematopoiesis and leukemia
  • You will provide technical assistance for the conduction of mouse experiments including monitoring the health status of experimental mice and isolating primary cells
  • You will execute in vitro experiments in tight collaboration with lab members, eg cell culture, PCR, flow cytometry (acquisition and analysis) and other techniques of molecular biology
  • Your profile

  • A completed master's or higher degree in Biology, Biotechnology or related subjects
  • At least 2 years of experience in a research lab
  • Proficiency in basic molecular biology, cell culture, flow cytometry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (German would be an asset)
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and eager to learn
  • Additional assets will be considered a plus, such as:
  • Experience in mouse handling
  • Experience in genomics (NGS library prep, library QC)
