Lab Assistant - (21003369)
The Neuroscience lab at the Shriners Pediatric Research Center is seeking a
Laboratory Assistant to perform simple and routine, generally non-technical
laboratory/research related tasks. The Laboratory Assistant is actively
involved in research in a neurobiology laboratory studying spinal cord
regeneration, peripheral nerve myelination and regeneration using various
transgenic mice lines
Responsibilities include: Tracking of mice breeding program; genotyping;
placecment of lab orders; preparing stock solution; and other general
laboratory maintenance and cleaning. The Lab Assistant also carries out
speific research experiments with some independence. Performs other related
duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
At least one year of directly related laboratory experience. An equivalent
combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to prepare solutions
Demonstrated ability to handle and maintain mouse colony
Demonstrated ability to maintain inventories
Prior experience in molecular and biochemical techniques, rodent
microsurgery, virus, confocal and wide-field fluorescence microscopy
This is a grant funded position.
