Provides support to all lab aspects of the Science programs. Provides support to faculty teaching in the Sciences, nursing and Health Sciences in the labs.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Excellent written and oral communication skills to interact with a diverse population of faculty, staff, students, and public.
Knowledge and ability to maintain biological and chemistry lab equipment, instruments, supplies, and materials.
Ability to maintain inventory, safety and equipment maintenance records.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Preferred: Ability to set up lab equipment.
Typical Experience:
Strong communication, organizational and project management skills.
Computer skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Required Education or Training:
To be eligible for student employment, an applicant must:
A. Be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment; or have been enrolled the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for employment between semesters.
B. Have at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average (preference given to applicants with above a 2.5 GPA)
C. Student must be in good academic and disciplinary standing with UAA and maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress as defined by UAA's Office of Financial Assistance https: // www. uaa.alaska.edu/students/financial- aid/student-responsibilities-faqs
D. An applicant must provide evidence of enrollment as outlined above to substantiate employment eligibility.
Salary Information:
This is a Student Assistant 2 position with a minimum starting pay of $11.34 per hour.
